Biography
Dr. Max Lab graduated medically from the University of Witwatersrand,South Africa. He was awarded a British Council Scholarship,to join the Nobel Laureate Sir Andrew Huxley’s department, at University College London. He moved to Physiology in Charing Cross Hospital,obtainingUniversity of London PhD and MD, and a Wellcome Trust Fellowship. He went on to the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London –jointly in the Imperial Centre for Experimental and Translational Medicine and the London Centre for Nanotechnology.He has received several research awards, many invitations for “Keynote†International lectures and workshops, and has published widely.
Research Interest
Professor Max Lab was fortunate in having been a major contributor to the establishment of Mechanoelectric Transduction or coupling (MEC)- Mechanosensitivity (stretch) in heart.
